After I buy the 70-200 f/2.8 lens for use when shooting mainly sports, what lens do you recommend I buy next for sports. I want it to be under $1000. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I would look for a used 300f/4, maybe a 1.4x teleconverter.

What body are you using?

The 300mm f/4L IS would be a good choice. So would the 400mm f/5.6L but that might be getting a bit dark, and lacks IS (which isn't so important for sports anyway - use a monopod). The 100-400mm is also a good choice, but again, a little dark.

What kind of sports are you looking to shoot? Daytime or at night?

I would also suggest the 300 f/4 IS.
