I'm squirming with jealousy!! I'd been scouring eBay for weeks and didn't find one so cheap and it was in mint condition... the jealousy wells up once more :), you'll be mightily pleased with what you have in your hands both ergonomically in relation to the controls and the images it produces - enjoy!

Enjoying it already! Nice website by the way - my parents live in Bristol; great access to beautiful scenery and nature....

Glad to hear and thanks bud! Bristol is great for greenery, and Ashton Court provides you close access to Red Deer - not as close as Richmond Park but I won't complain :D

Ah Wales is beautiful too, I visited Pembrokeshire in previous years, an island called Skomer just off of the coast and that was amazing to see Puffins all around you and unconcerned by your presence - Wales has some brilliant coastline too.

Just in case any of you are going to buy a 200-400 L, there's an update for the 1Ds 3. You can now AF at F8. :)

Been wanting to go to Skomer island for a while now - kind of easier with a car thought, which we don't have.
Picked up a 70-200 2.8 (original) the other day. Loving it. Here's one from Hampstead Heath this afternoon:

The 70-200 is so great for landscapes too, and the detail from the 1ds III is unlike anything I have used before... Pity the sky was so boring..... on the plus side it made it clear how much my sensor needs cleaning! (most of the dirt now PS'd out).

^ I honestly need to revisit your city, Chris... Three days there was not enough in 2007... Time to plan another (and longer stay) @ London...

:D

Definitely - make it an unpressured stay - there is much to explore!

Hey Chris, try and go, they do a train which takes you pretty close http://www.pembrokeshire-wales.com …ages&page=how_to_get_here (external link), the experience is brilliant and you wont be disappointed if you go at the right time of the year. Ah great lens and putting it to good use already!

I'm an ironworker and never seen so many cranes within the distance of this picture. That's a lot of construction going on. Where is this at?
