Looking on KEH and completed Ebay Auctions it looks like they average around $2500.

I'm a proud owner of a Canon 1dS MK III, in great condition and was able to get it for $1500.

First look at the few images and I'm very pleased. I'll post some later.

Congrats! It's an excellent image maker. Especially, at low ISO. :)

Buying used will depend on condition. I've seen some sell for as high as $2400.00 on FM. My copy has been excellent and I'm sad to see it go.

I have a question- I was recently given a used 1ds mark III. I've previously owned 2 in the rebel series and one 60d. With all of these cameras I can push the shutter button halfway to focus. With this camera, I have only been able to press one of the two af buttons to focus. Is there a way that I can focus using the shutter button as well? I've gotten so used to using it that I'm afraid to go on a shoot without it.

I have observed this "phenomenon" on mine as well, and my firmware is up to date.

I think the issue is that the autofocus locks in without beeping, giving the impression that it hasn't focused.

Thanks so much for your response. I would say that was the problem but when I take the photo it is completely blurry until I focus by pressing down the af button. However, if this is the problem- how can I remove autofocus?

What are you photographing? Is it sport / action or a still? Are you focus-recomposing?

Have you tried applying more pressure to the main shutter? I have found on mine that it is less sensitive to pressure than the vertical shutter.

I'm not sure what you mean with regards to removing autofocus.

Have you tried using the back AF button for continuous focus tracking? Then using the shutter button to take the snapshot?

?!
