I've gotten so used to using it that I'm afraid to go on a shoot without it. Hey Soulfulll - the previous owner simply programmed the buttons to operate in what is known as Back Button Focus mode. Go to the menu, then Custom Menu, followed by C.Fn IV and change the first option to Metering + AF start and the second option to Disable - that should take you back to what you're used to in your previous cameras.
