Hi everybody,
I've just bought a 1dsiii in perfect condition with less than 20 thousand actuations on it for somewhat less than 1,300 pounds. What do you think, a reasonable price? Can't wait to get it and post some pics.
regards,
Jos

I have owned 5d mark ii's and 6d's and really, really don't want to go back to having a limiting AF system. 2x Nikon D750// nikkor 24-70 2.8g // sigma 35mm 1.4 art// sigma 50mm 1.4 art// nikkor 85mm 1.4g// Nikkor 70-200 2.8 vr ii // 4x SB700// WL x3200 + x1600 http://www.marekkphotography.com

Apr 24, 2014 03:43 | #2864 Marek, I have just done exactly the same thing and I'm incredibly happy. I was over the moon when I got my 5d3, and don't get me wrong, I still absolutely love it, but the 1ds has a different feeling altogether. The RAW files it produces are so versatile! Obviously the ISO performance isn't as good as the modern cameras, but as you have identified, you pay the price with a limited AF system. If you can't stretch to another 5d3, I would say the 1ds3 will make you very happy. Chris Marriott Photography

More info | Apr 24, 2014 09:22 | #2865 Fwiw, Marek, I just finished a shoot yesterday where I ended up with a "the" pic from my 1DsIII - only problem is that the flash didn't fire properly (My ST-e2 had unseated and wasn't transmitting correctly, causing the flash to go off, but not while the shutter was open). I was already at iso3200, as I was trying to use augmented natural light filtered through windows on a cloudy day with an f/4 lens. The net result was an underexposed shot of more than two stops at max iso. There are few bodies I could salvage such a shot from and I'm happy to say that the 1DsIII is one of them. xgender.net
