What brand are you usually fond of?

well i have a tamrac expedition right now (not sure what model) but my 1d barely fits height wise. So i just looking for something that goes deeper. I hate the velcro separators too i guess i would need to get a pelican if i wanted foam. Brand doesn't matter as long it is a better bag than this one. I was looking at some lowepros which seem really nice.

I see. I would seriously look at the Lowepro Vertex series. It has some nice features that might interest you. I've had mine for little over a year and love it over my Tamrac bags.

I use a Domke F-4AF, camera plus two lenses, one mounted and one lens +430exII flash in the main compartment, plenty of room left for a waterbottle in one of the side pockets.

For a quick grab and go shoot I use the Domke F-831, just enough room for camera with a lens attached and I can squeeze one extra lens in the side or a flash.

yeah those look nice. I just may pick up a pelican or think tank though. It has that professional look to it. I don't know why but I am always a little embarrassed pulling my high dollar gear out of a little backpack in front of clients. :o

For a carry-on that won't see rough use a lot of things will do...

yeah i need something that will see some roughness here and there. recently my shoots have been crowded as hell. I don't want to be afraid of someone knocking my gear off a table or stepping on it. I may pick up the backpack that julian suggested as well as the pelican, but definitely the latter.
