One with the 50L, one with the 70-200 2.8L.
Just as I start feeling a groove, the boy starts tuggin' on the shirt AND the gas man shows up to replace our meter. Damn! Been in such a rut lately.

Thanks for the comment! I agree the smile makes it. She only smiles like that when she's laughing at something our crazy boy is doing. :D
It's funny you should mention that...
Story should have read:
"the batteries die in my flash, the boy starts tuggin' on the shirt AND the gas man shows up to replace our meter. Damn!"
All three sets of my rechargeables went empty in the last two days. Just goes to show ya...

Yup a fill flash would have definitely help (esp in photo #2). Is it just me from a pure photo quality standpoint does photo #1 (shot with the 50L) look better?

First one has 1/4 fill since the flash didn't recharge all the way, but it did fire.

It's not you. The first picture does look better solely in IQ. In all fairness I think it was stopped down to 2.5 though, where as the second shot with the 70-200 was at 3.5. Regardless, the 50L outresolves the 70-200 at every aperture and I have not seen more detail at 100% then with the 50L and Mark III combo (out of previous cameras/lenses I've owned).

Thanks!

And yes, she should model more often!!!
