Just wondering, why I don't ever see Ries or Berlebach products discussed or suggested? I have never used one so I can't say one way or another. How about you?

I had a Berlebach 8023 for a while. It is a rock solid tripod and built like a tank. It can withstand the stiffest of winds without affecting the image. It weighs 6.2lbs and is not the fastest to setup. It is not your general purpose carry around tripod. For me, it was a special purpose tripod where I didn't have to tote it around.

I think most users don't want the weight and less convenience of a wood tripod.
