First, thanks to all the baseball shooters on here for your tips, especially on exposure and on getting good "out of the box" shots just after contact. I have been following your advice with what I think are good results so far. Here are my latest from a game last night. EXIF embedded this time. Full set available at: http://www.cjscons.com/ghbaseball/jun12/index.html (external link)

Ray:

I am using the 70-200f2.8 L. Gives good reach but then I am cropping final images too. I am contemplating getting a 1.4x TC but wonder about loss of a stop and IQ.

Chris

Chris - really nice work. Sharp, well-exposed. Good job.

While it's not essential to have a ball in a shot to make it good, it's interesting that you didn't get a ball in any of these shots. Whadya think of that?

Thanks Dennis:

In this set, I was focusing on posting shots that showed best facial expression and sometimes, as you know, that does not include the ball. Here are a couple for you "ball in shot" junkies! I'll be shooting another game tomorrow and will post some more from that game.

1. Maybe a touch of focus (?) but the same grimace!

2. A tight crop...IQ may be less as a result

Manutd: LOL, the wonders of photography and image selection...the next 2 frames of this sequence (which have now been deleted) are of him promptly lifting his head and booting the ball!!
