Magic_Puzzle Member 145 posts Joined Jan 2008 More info | Jun 15, 2008 21:06 | #4 The price is cool, but this is a very anemic set-up. Two 65w bulbs are not going to light anything very well. You could probably have enough light to use with a small light box, but portraits are going to be very difficult to do. The "shoot through" umbrellas are small, so you will really have to work to get soft shadows with this set-up. You can certainly have some fun with these lights, but pretty soon you are going to want stronger lights. You can go to Home Depot and get some small lights with reflectors for about $6.00 each, the bulbs are readily available there as well. Get yourself something to mount the spring clamps on the light to some kind of support (chair, light stand,wall etc.), buy yourself a couple of shoot-through umbrellas for a few bucks each and you will be able to duplicate this set of lights. Larger bulbs will help and I am sure that they will fit the sockets for these lights.
