I'm thinking of picking up one of these for use on my 5D. I haven't used any alternative lenses with EOS yet, and was wondering a few things:

1.) Are there any interference issues between the lens and mirror that I need to be aware of?

2.) What type of adapter will I need? Recommended dealer?

3.) What would be a typical price for one of these (used) in excellent condition?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention...the lens is an "MM" mount (whatever that means).

I just bought one from KEH for $179, but I paid for the $20 shipping.

I bought the adapter on eBay. Here is his profile. Browse around and find the EOS to C/Y adapter.

I believe the MMs had a lever for aperture control from the camera (for stop-down metering/focusing). The smallest aperture on the ring is green on the MMs.

Thanks guys. Any problems with mirror interference on the 5D? There's also a big cost disparity with the adapters, anywhere from $30 to $70 on ebay. The $70 adapter is 1.42mm thick (which I've read is the ideal dimension for infinity focusing, etc) and has the AF confirm circuit. This sound reasonable at $70?

I've heard mixed information on the mirror clearance issue...best to ask someone who has the combo. I know my takumar 50 just catches my mirror at full infinity (only on the mirror down travel, and only now and then) and it really doesn't intrude much. The 5D is sensitive. :-P
