markin q3- torque dial

Markins owners,

just got my q3. I'm not fully grasping the use of the torque dial. when and why are you adjusting it? does it just make the knob more or less sensitive.???

You don't need to use it if you don't want to. However, it is one of the great features of the Markins. It allows you to set the sweet spot. In other words, once set it, you can easily reposition your gear without it flopping around as you do it. Just follow the instructions on setting it. Essentially, first loosen the dial. Then tighten the main knob so that your gear is stable and won't flop or change position. Then tighten the dial. Once set, you can loosen the main knob without worrying about your gear flopping. This comes in handy when you need to frequently reposition to frame your shot.

It simply puts an "end stop" to the big knob.
You set the minimum tension you want with the big knob, then turn in the dial, and you won't be able to open up the big knob further then that...
