With a 40D you will not see a significant speed increase to justify the added cost of the Ducati over the Extreme III. I use nothing but Extreme III cards personally.

Shooting RAW on 1dMkIII and recording to an ExtremeIII SD card is officially dog slow. Look like I'm back to using the Extreme IV CFs, and using the SDs for sRAWS for back up.
