I would be glad to have any comments/critiques on my new website, www.dougsturgess.com (external link) , specifically regarding overall look, functionality, navigation...

Thanks.

Very nice, it's different and I like that but load times are horrendous and I have a 5mb pipe. You have basically cut your audience down to those that are very patient or have massive bandwidth to spare. I would never wait for the site to load on dialup or probably even a 1.5mb connection.

Functionality and navigation are good. The only other thing that bothered me was when the images zoomed in, they looked a tad shwimmy. (thats a technical term)

I'm not dogging your site because I think it is very creative and I do like it. I just think you need to cut some overhead so it loads faster.

Nice design but very very slow to load. Even with DSL, I did not have the patience to wait for the images to load on each page.

Thanks for the comments so far. So far I've viewed the site at home (Comcast cable), work & through Wifi and it has loaded fast. I just deleted my temporary files & it loaded just as fast. I'm not sure why it is loading slow for you but that's something to consider.

Hi Doug,

I would have to second most of the comments here. Nice design but loading times are very long. I am on broadband and it really seems to take a long time. Internet users are an impatient bunch.

I echo what everyone else says. Also when I went to look in Human Earth it wouldn't let me as I didn't have a password. Other photos were taking 30 seconds to download so I saw maybe 1 of your shots in 2 minutes of looking around, not ideal.

Great site! I did not experience any load time issues. Great pictures as well!
