About this time every year, the city of Tigard hosts a hot air balloon festival. Balloons from all over gather here for the weekend. Besides the balloons... there are also carnival rides, food vendors, art & crafts exhibits, and live music. The balloon launches only happen in the early morning as conditions are best then. I brought along 3 zooms (17-35, 24-70, 70-200) and my 15mm fisheye... but found myself using mostly the 17-35 and the fisheye.

All photos were shot in RAW and PP via Aperture.

The last two photos were also "distortion corrected" via a plug-in for Aperture called Fisheye-Hemi by Image Trends... this is a great little tool for those times you just don't want the distortion effect of a fisheye.

Nice. Looks like 1/500 was fast enough for the group shot. ;)
