I just got back earlier this week from a 3 1/2 week study abroad in Germany and it was a blast. Just before the trip I upgraded from a XT to a 40d and it was a huge difference in almost every aspect. For once, I was able to take all the pictures in manual settings and RAW and while I did have about 30 gigs of pictures, I'm so glad I brought my laptop along to dump the pics every day. Next comes the PP and posting them online but I've never done it before nor do I feel like I'm good enough to post them as a gallery. However since I really want to get into the hobby, despite my extremely busy schedule in school, I thought I would drop the money on a zenfolio account and try a small gallery. I've been working with LR and I'm still new to it but so far I like it...I also have CS3 so incase I need to do some additional pp I can use that.

I know I'm babbling on here but I really need help on improving my pictures since I am leaving for Europe again in less than 2 weeks. I'm going to be traveling with my brothers for 2 1/2 weeks in France, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain and would love to come back with better pics. Sorry for the long post but any critique on the first gallery would be appreciated and I'll keep posting pics there as fast as I can...thanks!

THanks for the comments! I'm a little confused Robert by needing to link them to this page...do you mean post some of the pictures on the thread itself?

Good start. Try shooting images with more signs of life in them - people, hustle and bustle, animals, etc. Also, for the interior church shots, especially with stained glass, try some HDR series.

Have fun!
