After the rain at the touring cars it was nice to spend a sunny morning at Croft. It was the Great and Brittish neeting which comprised the Northern Saloons, Radical Cup, Mini Sevens and Migla plus the Sport Maxx Cup.

I have been trying to get the shutter speed down with the 300mm lens as I usually take the safe option if 1/320th. Some are at 1/320th, some at 1/200th and one at 1/100th. I must be honest and say the keeper rate has been lower shooting at 1/200th and very low at 1/100th (About 10%)

So here are my photos:

1) Fire breathing Phoenix

Although I have been taking motorsport photos for quite a while now I still have a lot to learn

They look pretty damn good to me too :)

Don't get too hung up on "keeper rates" Peter. I see people quoting 90%+ and frankly it's either a load of hot air or they're very easily pleased.

I've just deleted a load of shots from today, a hell of a lot more than i'd normally expect to junk too mainly due to the extremely harsh sun we had this afternoon and a fair bit of haze.

The heat shimmer off the track did for one or two of mine this afternoon as well.

Simon.

just had a quick look through mine having not long been home, and most of mine are shafted due to heat haze.

Peter,
Bang on the money, these mukker, and for the record the 100th shutter speed shot is the best for me,followed by 1 and 3.
Good shooting.

Cheers guys for the encouraging feedback :)

Hope you don't mind but found this photo from Saturday. Its Phil Morris who is well known in the Norther Saloon championship and since he was kind enough to give Geoff and I car passes thought I would return the favour

That's a cracking shot Peter.

Pass on my thanks for the car pass when you get the chance. I'll have a look through my stuff from the weekend and see what i have. :)

I like the last shot. Inside wheel off the ground, outside shocker fully compressed. I looks like he's trying to me. Nice. :)

A lovely set of shots Peter. The 3/4 pan at 1/100th is a cracking shot but I like the Phil Morris shot best - a real sense of motion.

Great set Peter. The color and sharpness is out standing.
