This is SuzyView asking for the near impossible.

One of my best friends here in Fairfax works for the adoption services for the County of Fairfax. She places children in adoptive homes. Every November the families gather for a day of fun. She asked me today if I could help her by taking pictures of the families, bring all backdrops and lights, etc. for real portraits and print the pictures on site and put in nice paper frames so they can take them home. This is sort of what corporations do for their annual gatherings. My husband and I get a portrait done every year this way. But the county can't pay well, just cost and maybe for time.

If anyone can help me, it's in November, in Fairfax and for a really good organization. Give me a PM and post here so I can give more information out when it comes.

I can bring 1 or 2 lightboxes that use speedlites and also have the ST-E2 or PWII's. I have a frame and blue backdrop or a large tan dropcloth to use. I don't have a good printer for traveling and making 8x10's. I do have my 2 Epson Picturemates for candids as they also want candids of the kids as they come in.

Thanks, in advance, if you can come and help me. I hope Jim & Jon and Ron can do this. If Dave Perry is around, I'd love to see him. He does this on site printing a lot with sports.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

Suzy,

Sign me up. I'll bring my 5D & 85MM f/1.8 and my EPSON R800 printer. I have 5x7 and 8x10 matte paper and I'll bring enough ink for 100 8x10s.

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!

I have 5x7 paper and 8x10 paper as well. I think I am going to bring my 5D and 24-70 and 50 1.4 and 85 also. I am so excited to help. The organization has a local photographer that takes portraits of each of the children for a catalog. These pictures are stunning. We are not doing that. We're just doing portraits and hopefully, they will come out okay.

Jim, thanks for responding so quickly. I think I will bring my laptop and some hard drives and about 16 gb of memory. I'll shoot RAW + large JPEG and hopefully, that will be enough.

Update on the EVENT - Friday, Nov. 7 at the Fairfax County Building in Fair Oaks (Close to Jim). We are asked to take our lights, etc., "Night of Stars" is the theme and they are doing a red carpet and we need to have someone provide velvet curtains for a backdrop. I have 3 light stands and 3 speedlites. We can set them off with the ST-E2 or PWII's. Need to get there by 4 p.m. to set up. There will be 100 people, most likely 25 families. They have a little show and giving out prizes. It will be very nice, but wear dark colors whoever can come. I have written to Canon USA to ask for donations if they can. Fairfax County will supply whatever they can. I will bring both my Picturemates and donate all the paper and ink for that, 400 pictures.

If you can come, please do. I can use the help. Jim is 1, who else?
