This was the main event I went to shoot this weekend on Saturday... I'm a Dub guy (VW) myself and I just could not turn down the opportunity to see the APR GTI's running at Mosport. The 2.5 hour race was intense with plenty of action and highlights. The race made an absolute mess of the track with the Fountain BMW slamming into the wall in Turn 5 and then driving off with radiator mist spewing from the front and dumping oil all the way out of Turn 6 and down the back straight.

C&C greatly appreciated. More shots can be found on my flickr page as well.

1. APR GTI strutting it's stuff.

Good shots. I like the APR GTI one best.

Thanks, I tried to wait for the right lighting and reduce the crazy amount of reflection problems I had the last time I posted up. Slight bit of softness on a few, just need to stabilize myself some more when getting those really low shots and not jitter so much!

Awesome pics! I have a fairly slow connection, but as soon as I read "7. I absolutely loved this paint scheme" I knew exactly which car was coming :)

Yeah that BMW was awesome. We watched him battling for 1st/2nd for those final laps and he unfortunately slipped into 3rd but wow did he ever push the limits in Moss Corner!

Great pics! I think I was standing beside you when I took my pics. I've got a few threads going with mine - here's one https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=520223.

Great angle in #1 and #2 and I love the heat shimmer that you caught!

You probably were, there was 5-6 'togs standing around in the corner on Saturday. I was sitting on the hillside with my girlfriend wearing the usual brown ball cap. If you ever spot me hanging around just slide on over and say hello :)

This is what happens to Cobalts when they drive too aggressive and bump into other cars on the track.

He hit directly below us, head on at about 50-65km/h into the wall. The impact force alone was enough to pop the fuel door open and it even popped the right taillight out which flew up to where we were sitting and came back down to the track. The whole front end was completely demolished and they were already running the car from a previous crash using tape to keep the front end and lights attached :)

it was a hard hit. I was standing directly above the impact zone and I could feel it in my feet through the ground!! #5 really is unforgiving with the wall so close to the track and no room to slow down or run off. He hit about 20 feet past the tire barrier which would have softened the blow.
