Hi every one.

This past weekend in Muncie IN, the 2008 XFC was held. for those of you who dont know what this is it is the only airplane and heli freestyle compition where both forms rc flying get to fly in the same show. I would highly recomend anyone to check this show out next year, for me being in rc flying for years was a great adventure, meeting folks and helping my friends on www.flyinggiants.com (external link) with the photo load and live webcast. i had 693 photos in all, and the simple non edited form of all can be found http://www.flyinggiants.com …/showgallery.php?cat=1002 (external link)

however here are my faves so far.. both have the AMA Headquatars inthe backround. i can post more if you like, any coments would be great.

EDIT: due to the site used to store the photos i couldnt post the good copy, so i have to upload the 2 in lower res..

1st place Winner Andrew Jesky

2nd Place by just a few points Jason Noll ( taken during noon demo)

please let me know if these dont show up.. thanks

mike

PS heli pics to come

Great shots! I'm totally new to flight competitions....so could you explain what exactly is going on in #2? I just can't seem to figure out how he's doing that! Great capture!

You might want to try cloning out those power lines, they kill these shots.

he is flying in the style called 3d, which is all flying lower then stall speed,, the thrust on planes able to do this is 4:1 or better, and the control surfaces are huge to allow them to be controled only by the prop thrust.. yes he is hovering ,, learn more at www.flyinggiants.com (external link)

about the cloning , me and the other photog on the line talked about the powerlines.. tryign to find out how to cover that..

well, this is the top end of rc aerobatics,, the average flyer doesnt need aircraft like this.. but yes stuff does happen.. its part of the hobby,.. even to the pros.

Nice shots, I thought these were real planes until the last photo,, with the guy carrying one. Obviously I know nothing of this sport.

What editing software do you have? You should be able to clone out the power lines easily enough. I did this one in about 2 min using PS.
