Going from EF-S 10-22mm to Canon EF 17-40mm f4 L opinions needed

iv desided that in the next few months Im going to upgrade to FF...as such I have a few EFS lenses that im going to sell.

At the moment I have the EF-S 10-22 (which I love!) and if I go to FF im thinking of selling that and buying the EF 17-40mm L. I was wondering if anyone knows how they compaire...they are about the same cost, about the same range but does anyone know how they compair opticaly?

I think they're pretty similar. The 17-40L may be a tad better optically, and of course it's a constant f/4, but there's not much in it.

The 16-35mm f/2.8 L Mark II is the best wide zoom for full-frame cameras, but it's twice the price of the 17-40L. If you want to try them out back-to-back to see which you prefer, I know a place...

I have found them to be just about identical in sharpness and color (to my eyes).

From what I've seen, the 17-40 has the same if not better IQ.
