I like the feel of the image also, very nice. However the halo really takes away from the image IMO. Would be awesome with a differently processed sky.:D

Thanks for sharing

Chuck

I agree that this processing works for this picture. I also agree with Chuck that the haloing is the one negative aspect.

What process causes that - over-sharpening?

Yeap.

The process was:

Levels: Adjust blacks the way I normally would, then adjust whites until some of the boats got blown out.

Noise Reduction: Run through the Noise Reduction routine at 10, 0%, 100%. Then run it through again. This is where the trees the got liquid look and the boats got so soft (blurry).

Then run the Unsharpen Mask at 100%, Threshold of 0 and (I can't remember the middle number but I usually use 0.9 but used something between 50 and 85). The unsharpen Mask gives it that edgy contrast.

I may try adding a warming filter to make it look like the beginning of a sizziling, hot day on the water.

i think its neat, as the haloing does subtract from the image, the over all look is pleasing...but then again, I dont think i have processed a pic in the "normal" way in about a year! All mine are way over done...just how i like em... lol Il leave all the normal stuff to others..
