What about a Lowepro Toploader 70 AW with a lens case or two on the sides?

personally i think it's ridiculous to pay $100 for a bag, i can get away with $20.. and have something that looks a little less like a 'camera bag'....i'm happy.

How about wearing cargo pants...?

I've carried my camera with a 24-105 onboard, a 10-22 in one knee pocket and a pair of flashes (540EZ and 430EX) and wireless triggers in the other knee pocket. You walk a little funny because of the weight, but it's all right there and very convenient. And you still have "regular" pockets available for other stuff like wallets/keys/phone.

No bags/belts to worry about...

Sounds like a good cheap solution.....;)

Anyone got any pictures of these lens holders you wear on your belt ??

Sorry replied whilst reading Page 1

I usually use this. basically an oversized fanny pack. Carries my 30D or 1DmkII in the main pouch sideways. A 50mm lens can be attached comfortably to the body. One side pouch for the extra lens and the other pouch for extra batteries, memory and a lens cloth. I can usually slide my wallet inside it too. Flash, if required slips into a pocket on the cargo pants I wear.
It's no Batman utility belt but it holds a bottled water in the main pouch while I have the camera out of it.

Doug whats the name of that Lowepro bag ??

My way of solving the problem: modified NG2345

If someone knows a bag (NG, Domke etc, anything that doesnt look space age) that would be similar, but for 3 lenses instead of 2, please tell me.

Check out LowePro, they have multiple bags that have a '100' or '200' size designation at the end of the model name!

The Off Trail (external link). You can add other lens pouches to it as needed or remove them. I have a couple of Tamrac pouches I attach to it as well. Pretty spiffy for a walkabout bag. Wolf/Ritz photo has them usually if you're interested in putting your hands on one before buying it.
*Edit* .... Just noticed you're in the UK so I'm unsure if there are either of the stores I mentioned near you.

Domke Vest. Good for carrying other things like lens paper, business cards, passes etc.

Cargo shorts for me during the warmer months, coat pocket during winter months.

Has always worked fine for excursions with an extra lens for me.

I love doing concert photography, but i really dont want to bring a 'bag' in... i need to have full freedom of movement when i'm shooting concerts, but i'd like to bring more than just my kit lens in, now that i've got a 10-22 and the 1.8 50mm.

How do you bring only a lens or two in? are there special lens pounces that you can hang off of yourself (while staying secure)... obviously i can't put it in a pocket, otherwise i would.

Well, depending on what you mean by 'bag', perhaps you should think about a shooting bag -- a lightweight padded bag designed to just hold a couple of lenses. Check out https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=5660666&postcount=1, or do a search on shootsac.

Just those lenses? Get a Crumpler Bundle (Large) It'll hold the 10-22 easily and can infact hold the nifty on top. I have a review showing the size.

Not sure how you're doing concert photography with such short FL but still. Another suggestion is the obvious, cargo pants/shorts or a simple vest bought at a local outdoor store.

EDIT: 0o0o0o0o0o! The OP is in Napa Valley so the Hilton thing maybe on target. Gotta look good. Why look like you're an actual photographer when you can look like a thosand other people with cameras?

Go into a local department store (e.g. Meijer). They have a decent selection of high-quality bags that are perfect for holding 2-4 regular size lenses. Most of them are no-brand name but I've seen Kodaks, Lowepros etc. They're usually priced below $25.

I also don't like going out with a "photo bag" so I usually carry my camera and one additional lens in a regular backpack with three sections (camera / lens in one section, spare lens and a light jacket in another, water bottles & misc stuff in third). It's inconspicuous and just as safe as a dedicated photo backpack. Actually better since most photo backpacks I've seen have to be placed on the ground before you open them, but the regular ones are top-accessible. I also see no reason to spend over $100 on a bag.
