A couple I am friends with is getting married in Mexico this week. The bride has a little boy that isnt going to Mexico with them, but she wanted wedding pics with him. So we went out and took some pictures the night before they left. I took about 190 and havent been through all of them yet. But here is a few that I am pretty happy with. They arent perfect yet but I'm definitely getting better everytime I shoot.

All of these were shot with my XT with the Canon 24-70 2.8 L on the front
I was using a sunpak 383 and a silver umbrella.

Any comments are appreciated.

1. This one had to be done very quick while the kid was cooperating lol

I'm sure they'll be happy. The kid's expression in 4 is pretty priceless.

I forgot to mention....in #4 you can see a caution sign (that I need to go back and clone out). The botanical gardens that we shot at was actually closed for a concert. We had to sweet talk a cop into letting us in anyway lol.

Nice captures. The lighting and poses are all very good, though #7 could possibly use a little more light.

My main comment/question is regarding the border. Is this something that you do for posting but remove before delivering to the client? For me it works on the shots where the border is not cropping into the subjects (#2, #3 & #7), but not as well when cropping exposed skin.

Very sharp images. Was that with the 50mm 1.8 or something else?
Composition is great. The only thing I could say is to get some of those oil wipes for their faces. They were getting a bit shiny in some of the pictures.

Ya thats just for web posting. Sometimes it crops a too close but I still put it on there for things I post. :). The bride and groom get the full size/non bordered versions so they can print as they wish.

It was the 24-70 2.8 L

Ya we had some paper towels we were using. But those oil whips would have been perfect. I'll have to add some of those to my "kit". Thanks!

I think overall you got some cute classic shots and your focus is good. skin tones look a bit oompa loompa to me. :) Last one is dark and cool. Cute family.

I am super cool n' stuff.

What happens when you saturate, white tends to become blue. I wount take one of your pics and edit it, since you have decliened that.

My guess is that the dress is white or off white. Select dress, go to hue/saturation, edit color to cyan, set to -65, edit color blue, set to -65, edit color megenta, set to -20.

Result of that will make the dress white again, without touching the rest of the pic.

Kind regards
Carsten

I love your border. I think it really adds to these. I also love the crispness of the shots. Agree about whites becoming blue... I have to adjust that a lot after I saturate, but as Carsten said it's a relatively simple fix.

It was in the Cancun area. I forgot what it was called though. They were booked at some secluded place that canceled on them for a remodel. So they had to scramble to find a replacement.

Scrambling around sucks. Barcelo is Cancun-ish. ~45 miles south of Cancun International Airport I believe.
