Has anyone found out WHY they're making such an incredible offer?
I'm tempted to pick up a new lens.....but I just got some......and need to learn to use them first!

had you ever heard or gone to live.com before?...i know i hadn't...now i've got an account there...as i'm sure it's getting them a lot of new accounts

Nope, hadn't heard of it before...but I'm thinking, DANG, that's an expensive way to drive hits to your site!!!

They're basically trying to get people to use their "live" search engine, to take people away from Google. Expensive, yes, but Microsoft will never run out of money.

Anyone got the rebate from MS?

btw, expect to see a LOT of 'new' lenses back on eBay from folks who otherwise would never sell camera equipment. Even though it's a lot of work to make net something around $35-$50 on a lens sale...

Is the cashback deal over? I can't get it to come up anymore. It was 20% this morning, but now I get nothing. I've only used it once, and I understand it's a 3 transaction limit.

I just checked and its still at 25%..

Thanks for the help! Here's the item number: 380049544250, an 85mm f/1.8 Canon lens. And just for the heck of it, here's a second item I was considering from another seller: 200241767417, a Tamron 28-300 VC lens.

I tried again, and still couldn't get the cashback award to show. Not sure why. I sent an e-mail to Microsoft Live to ask if the offer was over, but I imagine it will be a while before I hear back from them.

Live.com shows the 25%, but once on ebay there is no more advertisement about the deal.. Might have to wait for live/microsoft to respond..

Yeah, something's wrong. I see the 25% as the first result of the live.com search, but when I click on the link and try to buy, I see no reference that i'll get 25% off like I have seen in the past. I hope they didn't kill it yet!
