I am going to shoot some photos of new hair styles and would like some input on what type of setup to go with - (strobes or constant lights, fill light or reflector etc.) Mostly shooting indoors with a 40D. I have a 50mm f1.8 lens and a 28-135mm f3.5 lens
Thanks in advance.

Are you shooting in a hair salon or something? Is this for a commercial job?

The reason I ask is that I am shooting a spa/salon with models and product shots etc soonish, and wondering myself...

It is for a beautician to make posters and book, we haven't decided on the location yet.

Do you have any pro shops in your area that rent lighting equipment? Might be the way to go, and if it's what you decide to do, your decisions about what to use could be decided by what they have available.

To everyone, thanks so much for the info. I will post results for you to see. I think this is the coolest thing to have forums like this as I am new to taking pictures. Again, thank you all.
