Thanks for the write up Nick.

I'm the same about the heftiness. The MF3 is very similar to the PROBX in terms of heft... minus about 500-600g. The main reason I was looking at the MF4 was as you said... shorter collapsed length.

I too have the rubberfoot syndrome, so I may replace the caps with the rubber foot/spike combo you can get for them.

Interesting I have two-left foot syndrome - wonder if I can get spikes for that ;);):p

I just had a look at them. I knew they had spiked feet but I didn't realise they were retractable. If you order them from the US let me know and I'll grab a set too. Or I may pop down to PC for them.

John dials 1800-smiths

Helen(w), be warned, that rascally husband of yours is up to no good - put a penalty clause in that restraining order - a trip to Fiji would be a valid penalty :)

Do you think there'd be a reward for turning him in?
Everything looks primed for a successful sting operation here.

Bounty Hunter Greg with his trusty sidekick John (he of the two left feet syndrome) gallops off to PC's to invoke a citizens arrest and to buy a lens or two whilst there.

Hmm... plenty short cycle on the 40D then. Only announced a year ago

Might also have something to do with the Nikon D90 announcement (external link) today...

12.3Mpx, DX (APS-C 1.5x), 720p video, live-view with face detect... pretty much the same plus movies...

For goodness sake, video recording on an SLR? I hope Canon refuse to put such a silly feature in their cameras.

Ok, so get a question for you Brisbane people who have ordered from Cameras Direct... My order has been shipped, but they haven't sent me a tracking number. Is this what usually happens, or does AaE send you a tracking number as it says on their site???

I don't know what Camera's direct do, but AAE's tracking number is on the Con note when you write it out. AAE wouldn't send it to you.
