Some of you will have already seen this but I wanted to share a photo from the wedding on the w/end, it was so much fun!

Also I'm looking for locations out the Samford way which would have perhaps some long grass, old post and rail fences, maybe some old buildings etc. Anyone know of any thing?

Helen (not W!!) that is outstanding - very rich and perfect setting near the jacaranda. We noticed they'd really come into flower when we got back from holiday - can see them everywhere from home.

Helen, that shot is magnificent the colours and composition...wow.

Hey - and I saw the "tagline" quote in your sig all over Rome a couple of weeks ago, including on the manhole covers etc.....

Clang - oops, sorry, just dropped that name!

Very nice Helen :)

I reckon I could find a few places like that easy enough. Long grass and old fences is easy - old buildings, hmmm, there's a few photogenic ones about.
If you're needing a second shooter out this way, I'll shove my hand up :)

We had a tidy 39mm of rain yesterday/last night, so the creek is now flowing nicely again. Stopped for a quick shot on the way home this morning, nothing special, but it looks ok.

Wonderful shot. It looks somewhat 3D to me as I look around the image.

But why do people have to wear brightly coloured clothes when they walk through your background?

You're loving that ND400, aren't you Dave?

Awesome shot, i mean, i've been wanting to get a shot like this for ages, just, don't have the ND filter... and slightly flooded creeks at night time are dangerous places :(

anyway if my first comes out anything like this, i'll be over the ... moon?

Oh this one isn't particularly good, I've done better.

You don't *need* an ND filter, you just need to find flowing water with a good tree canopy, go there on a heavily overcast day, and don't forget the polariser :)

Yes, BUT also to cut nasty reflections off the water surface which make the photo less interesting.

For instance, this was shot with a polariser:
http://flickr.com/photos/dadegroot/2569294026/ (external link)

This wasn't:http://flickr.com/photos/dadegroot/1914857996/ (external link)

Notice the crappy sheen on the rock and water surface in the second one.

I do :)

Rainforest conditions aren't hard to find around Brissie providing you've got a car (and can drive).

You make things so difficult - needing a car and having to be able to drive as well.

Many Australians can only embrace the former :lol:

My Wife included, by the looks of it ;-)a

(she wrote off the camry the other day - spun in the wet, put it into a tree - she's ok, but the car has been deemed a "repairable write-off" by the insurers)

That'll buff out no worries...hehehe.It is still drivable?
So because of age and damage not worth the repair bill for the insurance?

Well in it's current state, it's not driving anywhere - rear tyre is burst. Personally, I don't think it's worth repair either - chassis rail is slightly bent, rear axle might not be fantastic either.

Let the shopping for a new/secondhand car begin.
Perhaps Sir would be interested in this lovely Rolls Royce Corniche...............

Sir would prefer a 200 Series Landcruiser in the Turbo Diesel VX variety, but Sir will be sorely lacking in those sorts of funds.

I'd say we'll be running on one car (despite owning three) for a while (cheaper that way anyway).
