Oh it's a truly gruelling process. I had to drop my camera AND lens off to their agents in Brisbane and it took about two weeks.

Thanks mate. Is that the Cannon Hill location of Canon? I see they have an office there, but seems to mention photocopiers and that sort of stuff, not the cameras/lenses. If not, where? Contact details?

I finally got a news from a recorded message. Noone answered the phone, but the message just says pack up your lens, drop in a note about what's wrong, included purchase info/proof, and mail it to a PO Box in North Ryde NSW. Upon receipt, they'll contact confirming. All sounds a bit dodgy - how do I know they ever receive it?

Bit of a worry to just send off into the never never a $1500 lens.

I have used this Cannon Hill site with no problem,took around a week to return fixed lens.

Not at all, we actually watched it pass from right to left and all we got was a little chop on the way back in, Horseshoe Bay btw.

Belated Christmas and New Year's to everyone... I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and got some neat pressies! I, for one got one of those Yongnuo YN-462 flashes - for a cheap little thing, it is not bad at all. I'll definitely purchase another one when I can.
