Is a 1D MKII with around 80k on it all worn out?

What is the shutter rating? 150,00 or 200,000 on them?

And anyone know how much it costs to have a shutter replaced in Canada?

I had a MKII last year (bought from Snir) and it was fantastic but winter was coming so I sold it and it looks like I saved $600 since thats how much they have gone down.

I could buy a MKIIn for about $650 more but not sure if it is worth the extra $$$ and after reading other threads, still not convinced. Nothing professional, more ego and Low noise over my 20D. Plus a 1D makes L lenses shine!

Thank you in advance.

Negative on your 1st question. I would consider it broken in, maybe has found a rhythm in which it operates, but not worn out.

Depends on asking price. I cannot state what the est. cost of repair is in CAN, but here in the states, it is somewhere around $185 USD for a new shutter.

Although the rating is 200K, shutters can last anywhere from a few K, to upwards of 400-500K. Just depends on how you use/ abuse the body.

I have a 2N, and had a 2 back in the winter. For my use, the N was worth the upgrade, but it depends on your style.

Hope this helps some.

Is the 2N really that different? I hear people talk about how much the AF was fixed but I'm still not convinced it was a significant fix as the 2N just seems like the LCD was the big update. I shoot motorsports with a 40D and have been eying the 1 series for a primary body and making the 40D the second body just not sure if it's best for a 1dmk2, 1dmk2n or man up on a 1dmk3.

There used to be Canon gear here but it disappeared.
