I think the A720's 6X zoom is pretty good already! Even shots using the digital zoom isn't that bad in my honest opinion.

Here's a shot using all the optical and digital zoom available on the A720IS. The subject was at least 200 feet from me.

I got stuff for taking pictures. :o When things are unclear - It's time to refocus.

I shot this photo using the standard macro setting. It's not super close, I didn't want to get too close to the bee, but, I was about 6 inches away.

How much of a macro are you looking? There are screw on close up filters that might fit o the adapters, but, I've never seen shots with them.

Most of my shots, I have the camera set at -1/3 exposure compensation.

Great shots Cre@te!

sue - the big problem with most of those cheap wide-angle/telephoto lenses is the quality of the glass/lens. Sometimes they degrade the image pretty badly - purple fringing [known as chromatic abberation], decreased contrast, and vignetting. But sometimes they don't or at least you can work within the lens limitations. For $25 (which is the price of the Canon adapter alone) it might be worth a shot. (Looks like they have a 7 day return policy w/ a 15% restocking fee if you're not happy).

I'm actually in the market for a wide angle adapter for my A720IS so I may give these guys a shot. (I already have a 58mm wide angle add on lens which I know is pretty high quality so I really just need the adapter, but like I said, with these lenses you never know until you try them how good/bad they might be.) But as Cre@te's pics show, you don't need add on lenses to take great pics with the A720IS. And rarely will the image quality actually be better with an add on lens. The add on lenses just give you more options, e.g., wide angle, super telephoto shooting (BTW - I suspect the filters they're including won't be any good for anything.)

It looks to me like that ebay ad is just for the adapter. The lens adapter itself does nothing but allow you to screw on a specialty lens or filter.

The wording in the ad appears to be misleading as the 0.5x lens, 2x lens, and filters together would be worth more than $24.99 plus shipping.

Here is a link from the same ebay seller for a complete set for $55.99. http://cgi.ebay.com …Q_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 (external link)

And another set for $85.00
