I like #2 the best. What shutter speed/aperture were you using?

I took the liberty of copying this from EXIF data:
# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/500 second = 0.002 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 32/10 = F3.2
:)

Thanks Paul.

I was averaging 400-600 shutter speed. It was indoors but the pool has massive windows along the top... I was using +2/3 EV and the metering of the Mark III was very consistent given all the refections from the windows. As I have mentioned before my only knock on the Mark III is it focuses too good sometimes by picking up single drops of water in front of the swimmers face

The 300 is nice...a little tight for the closest lane but otherwise allowed for great shots.

Fantastic Images - regarding the focusing issues with the water droplets - what did you have the focus speed switching set at ?

I had it set exactly in the middle for this event.

Thanks Toby, Darsk, and Palladium for the comments!

YMMV but I keep my sensitivity to between the middle and slow ;)

Thanks Alisaeo

Palladium... I just might dial it back for the next meet. I have to cover 5 lanes and the races average about 45 seconds. Just dont have time to check my results other than a quick histogram check now and then.

Anybody have experience covering swim meets and using slow vs fast focus speed C-Fn

Bwaah, I was on my mac and I haven't installed an EXIF browser yet, so...
