Well, not only about the proper use of focusing points, but on WB and the rest. I posted a couple of photos similar to these at one of the Nature Forum, but these, although of the same subjects, are different. I have been practicing with my new 40D this week, and it seems that because of all the tips I have read in this forum, I am beginning to understand AF, WB, etc. Yes, I know I have a long way to go, and better lenses to buy :)

Used a Sigma 70-300 set to macro on the flower, and a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 on Abbie (the dog). By the way, I used all the focus points, except that I made sure the intended subject was in focus. It just happened that two or three focus points were in nearly straight line on the dog's face, and down the middle.

Thanks to all of you.
