We just finished a "Fly Eagles Fly" sign to start up the song after the TD's also. :)

I loved the game. Go Eagles. So many good plays. I like the last play where McNabb intercepted the Vikings.

I got some good shots after McNabb caught the ball. Big McNabb smile. Got him catching it, but you can just see his OOF hands. :)

Yeah, I have to agree! Go Philly !
Since they so nicely kick Vikings butt.
It made me (Bears Fan) so happy and I am going to cheer on the Eagles for the rest of this season.
Happy New Year All !

Well, we made it on TV a few times. Mostly blurry background shots though.

Here we are behind Akers warming up. You could see us most every time they cut to him, but this was the best one.

The guys in front of us flew in from Philly for the game. There were a lot of people that did that. We even had a few people in our hotel that drove from New Jersey.

The guy in front of us promised his wife that he'd take her to Tampa (even if the Eagles don't make it to the SB) if she'd let him come to this game. He snuck in the sign (wish I would have thought of that). There was almost a nice clear shot of me and my wife. :)

Sorry for the cruddy "screen shots" (taken with my wife's P&S). ;) I'm too lazy to do any real ones.

And the view from those seats at 24mm on my MkIIn. Section 132, row 2, seat 29.

McNabb's catch. Sorry about the watermark and small size.

Nice job! That's McNabb saying "hey, pull my finger..." in that shot. He's completely blowing the gag though. You can't smile and laugh while saying it! ;)

Alright, a few observations from the game.

1. Brian Dawkins is my favorite football player of all time. After seeing him on the sidelines, I can say that he is the heart of the Eagles. I only saw him sit down a couple of times during the game. He didn't hesitate to chew anyone's butt that needed it. If he wasn't talking to the defense, he was literally pacing the sideline while the offense was on the field.

If he isn't back in an Eagles uniform next year I'll be very unhappy.

2. Asante Samuel is playing hurt. More hurt than is being let on. He still obviously makes big plays though. He has amazing anticipation of the play. I hope he holds up through the rest of the playoffs.

3. Sav Rocca is really big. David Akers is little.

4. Speaking of Akers, I never saw him miss a FG the entire pre-game (or during the game, obviously). He also warmed up pretty much the entire game. I didn't know the kickers kicked that many warm-ups during the game.

5. DeShaun Jackson is electric. The Eagles may have finally got it right with a day 1 drafted WR.

6. Tra Thomas is a nice guy. There was a ~10 year old boy in front of us and Tra walked over to him after the game and gave him one of his elbow pads. I thought that was pretty cool.

7. My claim to football fame is that I knocked Ben Leber on his butt in a HS football game. He's gotten a lot bigger since High School. ;)

8. The Vikings are crazy for wanting an open-air stadium. It was 3 below zero when we walked to the Metrodome. It was unbelievably loud in there, I could barely hear my wife yelling in my ear.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun Derek!

I just scored tickets to the Panthers/Cardinals game! :D

We have great seats at work. Front row of the section so there is only a walkway in front of us. Forecast is mild for this time of year, but 60% chance of rain. I don't care, I am going!

I used to say the same thing about Chris Spielman of the Lions back in the 90s. ("no one will ever carry me off a football field")
Gotta love players like this !

Speaking of the Lions, an old neighbor from Michigan just sent me this e-mail. You guys may get a laugh:

2009 LIONS SCHEDULE
September
13............... Taft Junior High School
20...............Cub Scout Troop #101
27............... Detroit Blind Academy

October
04............... American Nursing Assoc.
11...............Crippled Children's Home
18............... Eloise Mental Hospital
25...............Girl Scout Troop # 353

November
01............... Michigan Venereal Disease Clinic
08...............Fraser Boys Choir
15...............Korean Amputees
22............... National Hospital Pastorial Ministers
26............... Great Lakes Sychronized Swimming Team
SPECIAL MONDAY NIGHT GAME
December 08............... Grand Rapids Boys' Club

RULE CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR **
1 - When playing polio patients, the Lions must not disconnect knee braces.
2 - When playing the Blind Academy , the Lions must not hide the football under their jerseys.
3 - A touchdown (this is when the ball is carried over the goal line. For all you Lions fans that have never seen this) it is still worth 6 points.
4 - The Lions will be allowed 20 men on the field at all times.
5 - The Lions will be allowed to substitute with band members at anytime.
6 - The Lions will be awarded 10 timeouts as opposed to 3 for the opposing team.
7 - The Lions will be awarded a first down with each gain of three yards or more, instead of the usual ten yards.

** PLAYER CHANGE **
Field goal kicker will be replaced by Monica Lewinsky. She will no doubt blow a few, but she certainly won't choke on the big ones!
