can anyone tell me why when I use my new 580II as fill flash out side that the focus seems to be alot softer. Am I doing something wrong here or is this normal when using flash...Im a flash noob
Also its alot grainier

Flash would not affect noise/grain at all, and should help accurate focusing. BUT, you can still have slow shutter speeds (based on ambient light) with fill flash that could cause soft images. Unfortunatly I jumped the gun and I dont have the pic or details on me right now (im at work) and it wasnt even dark out and I swear I see alot more grain for the time of day...I dunno The Gear:
