I'm looking at buying one of these cameras.

Can anyone here tell me the price range of them used that I should pay? And what is the max shutter count I should accept.

I saw a 1D MKII with 83,000 actuations for $1650, is this a good price? Or should I go for one with 12K for $1900?

(Any Canadians looking to sell, this is your chance! Come on, sell me your camera, its good for both of us!)

I don't know what the price range for these guys, but if I had to choose, I would pay $250 more to get 70,000 more shots.

The shutter is rated for ~200K shots, so statistically, either should be fine. I look more at the condition of the camera than the number of actuations.

As far as pricing, MkIINs are going around $2100-2300, and MkIIs are around $1600-1800. $1900 Seems a little high to me for a MkII.

Chris,

in the past month or so, i saw quite a few great condition mkII with about 20-30K clicks on them go for $1500-1700 so better deals can be made for sure. as for 5D, i have seen them go for about $1500-1700 used depending on condition. mkIIn's are still fairly expensive ranging from $2100-2700 depending on condition and what is included with the sale.

OK, say you are me and you can spend a MAX amount of about $2200 on a camera, which one would you buy?

The MKII and MKIIn are very close to the same, so we'll say a MKII or a 5D. I have been shooting with a 20D the past three years (except for last summer, using a MKII). Is the 5D a better camera? Would I be correct in assuming it sort of between the x0D types and 1D series cameras?

My interest is a fast AF and good ISO.

Maybe I should just wait a while longer, buy a 35L now, have fun with that and wait for a canuck selling the ultimate deal. A 1D MKIII for $2600 bucks. Ah, that would be sweet. LOL
