Just thought I'd let you guys (and gals) know about the great service I got from Canon Irvine. Sent in my mkII on Thursday the 12th to have it serviced and have them adjust the metering (it was over exposing about a 1/2 stop in certain situations and the ISO display in the VF was flickering) Got it back today (the 17th), so basically they had it for 2 business days. They adjusted the AE, cleaned the sensor, cleaned the VF, fixed the LCD bar thingy and did some minor electrical adjustments (whatever that is:))...I'm loving it! Anyways, $212 bucks later my mkII is shooting like new, very very cool. Anyways, you read horror stories regarding Canon service, just thought I'd share my experience.
-Cheers

Congrats, and thanks for sharing your experience!
I just sent in my 50mm f/1.4 because the AF suddenly stopped working on both my bodies. I live 15 miles away, but it was cheaper to ship it than to drive there and back. Yay, gas prices. :( Hope to receive the same service for my request! :)

I go to UC Irvine and taken my cameras there a few times for cleaning and repair. They're great!

That's crazy, more for gas than for shipping it in...man.
Cool part is, they overnight, Fed-Ex it back to you, hell you'll probably get it the next day! LOL
