Got out to a little track yesterday along Hines Drive in Plymouth, MI. Two guys with Kyosho AWD 1/8 cars were running them around the track. Took a few shots, first time trying to shoot R/C.

1/400 in Tv, the last one was at 1/1000. 20D + 70-200 2.8.

Great shots. I love #3 & #4. Try to add some contrast/saturation as they appear just a tad flat.

I like the 1st one - good gritty feel to it.

Thanks, I wish I had more time. I was shooting Tv with EC set at 0. Should have been at +1/3 or 2/3 with the overcast lighting. Boosted the mids and highlights quite a bit in PP, a little in the shadows.

Good ones! How many did you have to delete? ;)

M is the only mode for beginners to learn how Tv/Av will help them in the future. When you know what you are doing, these three are all you need.

M is great for static car show pics...

M adds no more value when you set to 0, like I did. Tv/Av work wonders if you understand camera modes. Brain farting any shot, in M, Tv, Av, will result in the same ****ty shots.

My deleted shots were due to focus. I use standard AF, and AI Servo. Either is useless if you cannot keep up with a 12" long subject moving 30-40 mph. I have a new respect for the bird shooters.

Just got a 400 5.6 today, gone take two bodies out next time, 70-200 2.8 and the 400. Same for Thunder Over Michigan.

Well, duh? :D I asked because you had to shoot something that jumped up & down besides being small & fast. These were easier because they were mostly in one plane & they were my first experience with something like that:
Radio Controlled Boats

Just got a 400 5.6 today,

Great! You should have a lot of fun with it!

Those are so hard to chase with a camera. I tried once (well really havn't had the opportunity to try again). It was a challenge and I think I did: Edit>Select All>Delete>OK. LOL

Nicely done.
