I've been using my 40D with three Kenko Tubes, a 100/2.8, and a MT-24 flash, and handheld it's been great. When I try to mount it to a tripod, however, it becomes a complete guessing game to get the camera to point on target. (Manfrotto tripod, Acratech head). A small part of the problem is the tripod and head, but the bulk of the problem is flex between the body and the lens due to the tubes.

Is there any way to mount the lens and the body to a single plate, then mount the plate to the tripod? I don't have a machine shop available, so off-the shelf parts would be great.

Thanks!

->Mike
