Do people actually fall for this kind of stuff? This guy originally contacted me for a model shoot. I said I was probably free during the time he asked about, and this was his response (yes, the grammar was really that bad):
"--- On Wed, 6/18/08, Jim HinThanks for your fast response the Job is Urgent probably in a weeks
time
it all depend on the studio agent so you have still got much time to
prepare for it,we would be handling the wardrobe and MUA,no nudity,
fetish, bondage, escort and other adult content stuff.
We are trying to sort out most things so we can send you details to
GQ and MAXIM magazine for preview cause we work in collaboration
with them so if you are interested get back to me today with the
following information below so that we can arrange your part
payment for you to be rest assured($300).The part payment would be
mailed directly to you alongside the studio fee of $1150 making the
total payment to $1450 and immediately you have it i will instruct
you and give you the studio agents name you are to send the studio
rental fee to.Then you will be paid the balance immediately after
the shooting,I hope this is quite clear. Please I'd like you to
check your email on a regular basis,i might have updates for you.

My response was as follows:
"If you want to use my services, you will have to complete a contract with me, agree to my terms and conditions, and I will retain all copyright and licenses. All models will have to sign a model release a minimum of three days before the shoot and provide photo identification. My fee is $2500 which is non-negotiable and payable 5 days in advance via Paypal. I will not pay any fees what-so-ever. If you want my services, it is a straight contract and you will pay all model or studio fees directly to the vendors yourself."
This response is probably a little harsh on the off-chance that this was a legit deal, but I'd rather lose business than get burned. I can just imagine what the "studio fee" is for, and I don't take payment by check. I would post his e-mail address, but I imagine that is probably against some rule somewhere.
