MS = middle school. Just cleaning the hard drive up from a tournament I shot a month ago so I figured I'd post a few. Weather was all over the board from sun to rain so settings were nuts. Can't even tell you all how many shots were taken but well into 4 figures which necessitated shooting jpg only for me. These are a few that caught my eye when scrolling through although I'm sure there are probably better. Feel free to CC and if not, hope you like. Peace.

Im gonna be critical but only because I like you and you know that Im not doing it to be mean. I hope youll be the same way when I post stuff.

#1 Is pretty solid. Nothing fancy, but nothing bad either. It looks a little dark but Im at work so who knows haha
#2 Again is solid. I like him cutting between defenders but I personally would like to see more of the defender. Thats just my style. You may be going for something different. It definitely would make a good cut out.
#3 You took a picture of a keeper but thats about it. Just not much going on
#4 Is another solid capture. The fence is distracting though.
#5 Looks a little softer to me than the others and I dont like the amputated leg look
#6 Doesnt have much going for it. His eyes are blocked and theres not really anything going on
#7 Has another amputated leg and distracting people standing around in the background.

meany! you know I appreciate it Adam. It's tougher to take the time to crit each shot than to just say great, so thanks. Those fences amke ya nuts at the tourneys, there's just no getting away from them. I don't mind the amputees taht much but I agree that there are few in that bunch that are clean but blah. I was going for some sportrait type stuff mostly to hopefully lure some parents in to buy by isolating their kid. Works well for sales but does leave the action lacking at times.

it's a sweet new test lens I got from Canon 384mm f1.4 USM L IS. Plain sick!

Seriously though, it was shot with a Sigma 120-300 with a 1.4x tc. 275mm*1.4 = 385mm

I think about this alot when I shoot - even when I see some players not in action shot I still shoot them - you never know!

What's your keeper rate? I have been getting arount 75 to 100 per game.

Scott, As Adam said good shots!!

thanks Paul. my rate is about 85% but some of my throw aways are simply because they are too similar to other images of the that same athlete. Some just suck!

Nice Photos.

Not to threadjack, but I live in Euclid. Seems like there are a fair amount of NE Ohioians on here.

thanks and I'd agree. Lisa B has been trying to organize a fall get together since there are so many of us here and it looks like its going to happen. Drop me a note if you are in the downtown area or on the westside.
