Here are 3 logos I designed for a local business owner. Her basic requirements were the blue/gold color and being associated with Peachtree City, GA.
Sorry for the image size, photobucket seems to want to mess up when I try to resize.

Peachtree City is known in GA for being built around golf courses and having golf cart paths that run all through it...hence the golf cart.

The fonts used in them don't do anything for me. Too fancy, too much going on. The third is the simplest but the tree is too busy. I'd try to simplify it because really with so much going on in all these and the bad color combinations its not easy to look at or read.

I think the second one is the best of the three. I don't have any problem with the font at all or with them being too busy but to me the first and third shots look unfinished.

Just my $.02 worth,
Jim

The fancy script is not attracting my attention...maybe keep it simpler?

I like the second one but, and i'm going to be a boring parrot here... the font is too fancy. by the time i've tried to read it i've lost interest. Just needs a little tone down thats all. But I do really like the second design :)

Unfortunately I agree. I think they all look 'homeade' I would stick with something cleaner.

I agree with meganecp... but if i have to pick one.. would be #2 because is the only one where there is some balance with the image and the font.
Oh... and i would change that fonto too.

thanks for the comments! I have never been a Script font fan for much of anything, but she was stuck on keeping it. We ended up going with the font layout on #1 over the tree image in #3. She really liked both #2 and #3 images.
I colored in a lot of the center section of the tree whcih cleaned it up a little. This was my first sale and she likes it. Not my favorite design I've made, but the customers happy.
