Navigating improvements in photoshop from

version 7.0 to the current CS2/CS3 editions?

I'm wondering if the interface and ease of use is much better in the newer ones. I find that 7.0 is clunky and requires more clicks for common operations than my other imaging editors, but I prefer the quality output and more options it has.

I know I need to learn all the keyboard shortcuts, but I'm wondering if my time would be better spent by investing in a newer version.

I'm still basically a newbie to PS, doing things like photo tweaking, vignetting, watermarking, nothing very fancy or elaborate (yet anyway!). Are the newer versions much much easier to navigate?

No huge differences to the UI or controls, just evolution, but I like adjustment layers.

As Tim points out the later versions have more "stuff." However, you can also customize your user interface by using either custom or default workspaces. Also, its simple to hide/turn off the functions and commands you don't use on a regular basis by using the Edit >Menu command.
