internal lens cleaning

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you that live in the NYC area could point me in the direction of a good shop that does internal cleaning of lenses. After about a year i noticed that my Canon 17-55 has a bit of dust. While it doesn't affect the photo i don't want to wait till it does to have it cleaned. Sucks that the warranty on this lens just expired... Thanks for your time.

Send it to Canon in Jersey...

What you need to do is e-mail Canon in NJ and explain to them what you need done and get an estimate first. If you have a work order, it makes it a lot easier.

I didn't want to send it back to Canon because i was trying to get it back in good time.. i domn't think i can live without this lens Oh well i guess i'm calling Canon, but isn't there one in long isand as well or am i mistaken.. i'll look it up. Thanks for the help Doubleneg and Suzy..

I'm pretty sure there are some local shops (or guys in the shed) here on the Island. I know a local shop that sends their stuff out to such a guy. My advice? Stick with Canon.
