Shooting a rodeo/horse show.....

Any suggestions for shooting these type of shows? I was invited to a local horse show tomorrow noon/evening and I'd really love to get some great photos.... It's outside and it's suppose to be sunny and with cloudy periods off and all all after noon... I'll probably use me 2.8 for most of the actions... Any suggestions on settings, ISO and such?? Any comments would be great!!

Pretty much the same as any other sporting events for the camera settings. Adjust aperture to isolate subject if you want. Otherwise keep the ISO as low and still keep a fast shutter speed. 1/500th is about the minimum faster is better. I have some barrel racing at 1/250 but you can see some motion blur.

Get as low as possible all the way to ground level. Include the horse and rider. Include as little of the ground as needed.
