I need this answered quickly. Will it work and obviously I would need a battery grip anti twist plate?

i just called tiffen and they don't recomment it because it's only a 2" difference higher as opposed to if I mounted it on the camera.

Is this worth it then? I like the compact version, hence, why i want to this but having a grip totally throws everything off!
