For Father's Day, my wife got me a brand-spankin' new Tamrac Expedition 8x. Unfortunately, the first time I loaded up the bag (30.2lb including the backpack), the left shoulder strap started ripping where it meets the top of the bag. So it promptly went back to Amazon.com for a refund.
Now I'm almost all set on the Lowepro Vertex 300, but before I get it, I wanted to know if there are any alternatives within the similar price range (~$250) that I should consider. Basically I'm looking for a large backpack to transport my gear (3 D/SLRs, 5-6 lenses, the biggest/longest of which is the EF 70-200mm f/4L, three flashes, PSD, 15.4" laptop, and various accessories) for family gathering weekends and other social events. No airplane travel considerations, and once I'm at the destination I have a Lowepro Fastpack 200 for outings.
Thanks very much in advance.
