Absolutely ridiculous the ordeal I am going thru. I called Imaging World both Friday and Saturday, no answer. I emailed them Friday. I got an email today saying that the phone # I provided is not listed with the bank and he needed the phone # for the bank. They charged my credit card TUESDAY (and it was successful). He has my cell #. Did not call or email me until today.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. My 70-300 arrived by Fedex on Thursday exactly as expected, and I'm enjoying my new lens. Hope it works out.

I bought an XSi body and 100mm 2.8 lens at the end of November 2008 from The Imaging World, with eBay cashback. Delivery was fast. Packaging was good. Cashback was received after the waiting period. I was happy and would order from them again.

I had read online that there were odd spelling errors on The Imaging World website that made the writer think the company was suspect, so before ordering I confirmed at the Canon website that The Imaging World was an authorized Canon dealer. And I checked that there is an actual storefront, with a sign. After receiving my order I called the company (they accidentally sent me an extra lens, without charging me, that I didn't need and I wanted to return it) and spoke to Joel Weiss, who I think is the owner. I mentioned the spelling errors to him -- he had not realized they were there. He contacted his web person and had them corrected.

That's great, glad things worked out. Wish I had the spare funds for a Mk II! Enjoy.

They are apparently legit just a bit slow. I didn't like the fact that that it was out of stock and said in stock on his website. When I told him "It shows In Stock on your website" he replied with "that doesn't mean anything."

In the end, I got my camera though. Hopefully they process my live cash back soon.

Live cash back -- that's another story. I am currently in the midst of trying to get my $200 back on a 24-70 f/2.8 lens that I bought back in Feb. The 60 days passed and live.com attempted to send the cash to my paypal account, and the status showed as "failed". The exact same thing happened back in December, when I got 25% cash back on a 580 EX II. I sent a couple of emails to live.com and paypal, eventually it got sorted out (one thing that I forgot to do was go into my live cashback account and associate my paypal email with the pay options -- that was not automatic). I figured this latest cashback would be smooth, but I was wrong. So far live.com says check with paypal to make sure my account can receive funds (obviously it can), and paypal sent me a form letter email saying to make sure I've done all the steps (I have). So good luck on that too.
