first time with a IR filter. all are done using a cheapy knock off no-name 720nm IR filter. any help or ideas here would be very welcome. also how do you get the trees pure white like you see in many other IR photos and is there a way to tone down the red a bit?

all shots are at iso 80.

Does that S5 of yours allow you to set a Custom White Balance? If so, take an out-of-focus (to homogenize the green) shot of the grass. Use that as the source to set the CWB, and then the green will be rendered as white.

it does allow a custom white balance and I did try a shot of the grass but didn't think of the out of focus part. thank you for the idea there as I have actually been trying to figure out how to get those trees white.
I am curious though as to why usually tree's are always setup though as to show up white with IR?

Well I don't really have any suggestions as far as technique or adjustments go as I"ve never really played with IR yet (beyond simply adjusting the colors to your liking in pp of course) but I did want to say that I simply love that first shot as is...that's a really wonderful shot there!

Peace,
Jim
