Do any of you guys use smugmug? Is it worth trying to get into to sell images or is there a better place?

The folks at Smugmug have always been very helpful. Plus they gave me a nifty camera strap!

I like it for the fact you can keep it as simple or make it as complex as you want. Since I have family scattered up and down the East Coast, it is great that can order the photos they want online.

But don't think that you can just post them and people will come. You still have to drive people to the site. They will not just go onto smugmug, search for something and then purchase it from you. I have sold some but it was a targeted gallery where I had customers before the gallery was even created.

I have had a pro account with them for a year, and I couldn't be happier. When it was time to renew, there was never a question. Heather L. Cowan, HLC Photography
